Support is Everything

If it weren’t for Madi being my doula during my first pregnancy, I would have felt so unprepared and alone in the journey. She was a constant source of support—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Madi provided so much knowledge and guidance, especially with different types of counter pressure techniques (which absolutely SAVED ME during labor!). She also taught my husband how to use them so he could support me more effectively.

During birth, when I was too exhausted to speak up for myself, Madi became my advocate. There was a moment when the care team wanted to break my water. It was unexpected and I didn’t think it would come to that, but Madi knew prior that this wasn’t what I wanted.  She stood by me, prayed with me, and gently suggested trying different positions to help open my hips—and sure enough, my water broke naturally, and baby came soon after!

Even after birth, she continued to check in, which meant so much during those early days of transition into motherhood. Having her support didn’t stop at the delivery room—she came for a postpartum home visit and helped with dishes, laundry and brought me some yummy lactation brownies.

I’m forever grateful to have had Madi as my doula. She wasn’t just a support person—she became a friend and a sister in Christ. Thank you, Madi, for walking alongside me in one of the most sacred times of my life!
