Meet Madi
Hello! My name is Madi & I grew up here in Minnesota. I was raised on nature, empathy, Jesus and expression through art. I grew up being taught that being the one to stand up for others and being kind is the greatest thing you can do.
I am a momma to one, I have a Fiancé, John, and enjoy gardening, cooking, creating, & exploring in the woods. People tell me I have a soothing voice which is needed in the birthing room :) I come from a medical background, but I stick to a nurturing, dignified kind of care that sticks with people.
My favorite thing about being a doula is holding mothers so they can take their time, not feel rushed, and after baby's born... feel like they have support to heal.

My Call to Doula Work
As a mother, I know how important having support and comfort is in the pregnancy & beyond. I had lost my maternal support at a very young age, and I unfortunately had very little support during birth. This led to feeling hopeless and a lack of satisfaction from my birth experience.
Luckily, my Auntie came through during postpartum and helped me with light housekeeping, healthy meals and emotional encouragement. She kept telling me how amazing I was doing, reminding me I'm my baby's favorite voice and complimenting me on my gentleness and how I nurtured her.
This stuck with me and motivated me to become a doula for mothers who may not have the resources, knowledge for what's to come, or family to come care for them in this MAJOR transition!
I believe doulas work to nurture & hold mothers to bless future generations. I'm leaving nursing to follow my passion for holistic birth because I love helping mamas trust in their bodies and become in-tune with their maternal instincts.

Healing & Nurture
Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are sacred times of transition, and to help Mamas cherish it. I want to help create a warm & loving environment in each phase.
I bring encouragement, grace and empathy. My main focus is being your safe space to help you navigate tough emotions as they come up. You are not alone in this.
Doula Misconceptions
Common misconceptions about doulas that I would like to address:
Doulas are not meant to step in, replace or disregard your partner. Doulas are also not meant to make decisions for you, but to empower you and your partner to make informed decisions during labor!
